Robin · Independent developer

Software, audio
& interactive
projects.

I build web applications, audio tools and interactive experiences, combining practical development with more than 15 years of music production.

Selected projects

Independent work across web software, audio and interactive tools.

01 / Music production

SessionIQ

A local workspace for music projects, with audio analysis, track comparison and an assistant that cites your files.

Implementation

  • Hybrid RAG grounds AI answers in audio, MIDI and production notes, with file-level citations.
  • Seven metadata tools power exact comparisons and rankings; an optional MCP server exposes them to external agents.
  • Audio analysis, reference A/B, creative memory and readiness checks guide production. Runs offline, with optional Ollama or OpenAI.

02 / Shared listening

SyncWave

Shared listening rooms for Audius. Listen together, build a queue and explore music with realtime audio visualizations.

Implementation

  • Playback stays coordinated across listeners, with a shared-timestamp fallback when the host leaves.
  • Room-scoped WebSockets handle live updates; queues and chat persist in Cloudflare D1.
  • Anyone can listen. Host actions require server-verified Audius identity and room ownership.

03 / Audio effects

PromptFX

A C++ / JUCE audio-effect plugin that maps creative descriptors to predefined multi-effect chains.

Rule-based processingDescriptor → recipe → macros → DSP chain

Implementation

  • Descriptor recipes such as Haunted and Underwater are shaped with four creative macros.
  • The rule-based mapping layer is plain C++, separate from the DSP and JUCE interface.
  • CMake builds VST3 and standalone formats, plus AU on macOS; builds are configured in CI.

04 / Interactive maps

ParkScout

A mobile-first visitor map with points of interest, footpath routing and optimized walking tours.

ParkScout place details

Implementation

  • Dijkstra finds walking routes through a graph of the park’s footpaths.
  • Nearest-neighbour ordering and 2-opt refinement create a full visiting tour.
  • Leaflet and OpenStreetMap run in a static browser application with no backend.

About the work

My background spans web development, technical troubleshooting, music production and interactive media. I’ve worked intermittently on freelance websites, including WordPress customization, integrations, maintenance and migrations.

My independent applications bring those interests into software: production workflows, shared listening, audio effects and browser-based maps. I also work with Unreal Engine on gameplay prototypes and UI systems.

AI coding assistants are part of my development process, alongside research, code review, debugging and testing.

Web & applications

JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Python, FastAPI, REST APIs and WordPress.

Audio & interaction

Music production, Web Audio, JUCE, C++, Unreal Engine and Blueprints.

Engineering tools

Git, GitHub, Pytest, CI workflows, integration testing and technical documentation.
